I am selling my Avenger, which I have owned since 1988 and which I now believe to be THE LAST 1978 S-REGISTRATION CHRYSLER AVENGER 1.3 LS 4-DOOR SALOON LEFT REMAINING IN THE UK, and one of only a handful of all types of mark 2 Chrysler/Talbot Avengers that are still in existence here. It is a complete car in original Chrysler "Navy blue", with the original light grey vinyl interior, original engine, gearbox and back axle, and with much original bodywork. The car is completely unmodified except for the addition of a period Motorola radio and basic car alarm. Originally, the car came with neither. When new the car was purchased by a local gentleman from Farmer's Garage Chrysler Dealers in Matlock, Derbyshire (the car dealership still exists today), and I am only the fourth local Derbyshire owner. I have the original style owner's document but not the most modern kind. I enjoyed 12 years of happy and reliable motoring in the car from 1988 - 2000, but after an MOT failure it had to be taken off the road and it has been off the road ever since parked outside, largely under a car cover. Today the car is being sold as a non-runner requiring complete and extensive restoration, especially to the bodywork, although Avengers are quite simply constructed bodily and the front wings are bolt-on. It will need to be trailored or transported away by the purchaser. Having said all that, IT PROBABLY IS THE LAST REMAINING AVENGER OF ITS TYPE LEFT IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY, and as such is an important part of British motoring history. These were made in Chrysler's Linwood factory in Glasgow, which before that made the Hillman Imp. The advertised price is negotiable, and I am open to offers. The car is located in Derbyshire High Peak.
