As part of an ongoing 'Room making exercise' I have listed another one of my larger engines. This one has been with us a long time and runs nicely on air and steam. We have always referred to it as 'The Roberts engine' because of the E&H ROBERTS,DEANSHANGER, cast into the pulley/flywheel. I can't honestly say that it was made by this famous Stoney Stratford Iron Founders but this particular engine is pictured on the E&H Roberts website. I have no doubt that it is a small, full size, workshop engine as it obviously used to drive something from the substantial pulley, fitted next to the Flywheel. Mounted on a beautiful wooden base, fitted with draincocks and various lubricators with hardwood cylinder lagging. A feedwater pump appears to be an original feature as the eccentric rods and straps are the same. A balanced crank makes smooth running. With an understanding wife it would make a nice feature in your lounge but a bit heavy to go on top of the TV ! It is just manageable on your own but better with two. The Stuart Turner S50 is to give an idea of the size but IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SALE.
