Mini Cooper 1.3i SPI, AUG 1995 12 previous owners MOT valid until 26 February 2025, 99,500miles
This car was professionally rebuilt to coincide with my son's 17th Birthday in September 2022
The bodyshell was stripped bare by CTT Services, Walsall and each panel that showed corrosion including wings, front panel, bonnet, door skins and boot floor were replaced with Heritage panels supplied by Minisport, Padiham. Underneath, floors, boot floor and engine bay treated with U-POL® RAPTOR® Liner & Protective Coating in the original red. Subframes were inspected and cleaned before refitting. Bushes and mounts were replaced with harder-wearing Polybushes, and nuts and bolts were substituted for stainless steel items. Adjustable suspension front. The Body repainted Rover brilliant red and white roof. John Cooper replica decals were added. Wheels: refurbished Rover Minilite 13in. Replica Mini Cooper Sportspack body kit and MPI style spotlights. Seats repaired, new foam bolsters and engine and ancillaries cleaned/painted before refitting.
During Covid, it was near impossible to get your hands on a wiring loom so a lot (and I mean a lot) of attention has gone into ensuring that the electrics are very much fit for purpose. The engine has always been particularly strong and the gearbox smooth. The ride can be a bit harsh for some, but it was built to be driven.
In the past two years, the paint has been touched up and there’s the odd mark on the walnut dash. There can be no doubt that we have lavished much more £££ than we will ever recoup. No history apart from a thick wad of receipts from the build.
